Transport rule on Auto-reply results in "Delivery has failed to these recipients or distribution lists:"
Hello! I'm setting up a Auto-reply to one of our internal adresses, and I can't figure out how to avoid the "Delivery has failed..." message. As I understand, I still don't have to enable the ""Allow automatic replies" rule? I just want to allow automatic replies for a single adress, not everyone. I set the rule up like described in this thread: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrtransport/thread/5e80c4da-63c5-4a0c-b995-56119017a336/ The return; Return-Path: **@hotmail.com happends after it's been scanned in our mail-firewall, tho we don't block *@hotmail.com adresses, I can send to an *@hotmail.com adress, and recieve without problems. Thanks!

what is the version of exchange? If it is exchange 2007 or 2010 - you can look at option of transport rules for a specific mailnox with a message has "delivery has failed" subject or content inside the message.Best Rgds, Ashish | Unified Comunication | MCTS | MCITP | Please remember to select option "Propose As Answer" if solution work for you | My posts hold no assurances, no promises, and they measured no rights.

Hi, If you want to block certain message, you can type the detail information from NDR in Transport Rule but it’s not recommended. If you send the message to certain user who does not get it, you will also do not know whether the message is arrived or not. Why don’t you create Automatic Reply in certain user client? You can manage its relevant settings via the following article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290846 Thanks. Well I thought about that. Tho, how will that work out when people keep logging into/out of the machine we're running Outlook on, and keeps shuting it down every day and so. Will that turn off the Out of office thing, if people is logged into Outlook?
